Drum Workshop vice president John Good talks with Drum Magazine editor Nick Grizzle at Winter NAMM 2018 about DW’s newly released Contemporary Classic drum set, with a design and build inspired by veteran session drummer Russ Kunkel. This new set features shells made of mahogany and poplar, as well as 6-ply reinforcing hoops made of maple. DW’s new Collector’s Series snare drums include Collector’s Wood and Collector’s Metal models. Plus, Rich of DW demonstrates the company’s quick-release, self-centering snare system, available in 13″ and 14″ head sizes.
