George Kollias is a busy man. The world-class drummer of legendary death metal band Nile has now produced his own solo album, on which he plays all the instruments. If he can play guitar anything like he can play drums, guitarists will soon be giving up their instruments in droves.
On his debut album, Invictus, George unleashes his typical crushing assault of speed and volume, with standout tracks such as “Shall Rise, Shall Be Dead”, “The Passage”, and “Treasures of Nemesis.” In addition to playing all instruments, Geoge is joined at various points by members of Nile, Rotting Christ, Firewind, and others. The album has been called “timeless, classic death metal.” [Ed. Note: We’ve yet to hear the entire record.]
